Pinball Machine Hire Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to pinball machines supplied on hire by Skillshot Wales. Specific details including the machine, monthly hire charge, deposit, hire period and any delivery or collection charges will be confirmed before the hire begins.

1. Minimum Hire Period

   The minimum hire period is six months unless otherwise agreed in writing. The hire period begins on the date specified in the individual hire agreement.

   Payment for the initial six-month hire period is required before the machine is released or delivered. A security deposit is also required and will be taken or authorised against a valid payment card before the hire begins.

2. Delivery, Collection & Setup

   The advertised monthly hire price covers the hire of the pinball machine only and does not include delivery, collection, installation or setup.

   Where these services are required, they will be quoted separately. The hirer must tell us in advance about stairs, restricted access, difficult parking or any other circumstances that may affect delivery or collection.

3. Looking After the Machine

   Pinball machines are mechanical and electronic devices and normal wear and tear is expected during ordinary use. Repairs resulting from normal use and normal wear and tear are covered by Skillshot during the hire period.

   The hirer is responsible for taking reasonable care of the machine. Damage caused by misuse, neglect, liquid damage, deliberate damage, unsuitable electrical supply, unauthorised modification or moving the machine without our agreement is not considered normal wear and tear.

   Where damage has been caused by misuse or negligence, the reasonable cost of parts, labour and any necessary transport may be charged to the hirer.

4. Faults & Repairs

   Any fault should be reported to Skillshot as soon as reasonably possible. The hirer must not attempt repairs, adjustments or modifications unless specifically authorised by us.

   We must be given reasonable access to the machine where inspection or repair is necessary. We will make reasonable efforts to rectify faults caused through normal use, but cannot guarantee that every fault can be repaired immediately or on site.

5. Location & Moving the Machine

   The machine must remain at the agreed hire address unless Skillshot gives prior permission for it to be moved.

   The hirer must provide a suitable, dry and secure indoor location with an appropriate electrical supply. The machine must not be exposed to water, excessive damp, extreme temperatures or other conditions likely to cause damage.

   The machine must not be sold, sub-hired, loaned, transferred or otherwise passed to another person or business while it remains the property of Skillshot.

6. Extending the Hire

   At the end of the initial hire period, the agreement may be extended on a monthly basis, subject to availability and agreement with Skillshot.

   If you would like to extend the hire, please give us at least one month's notice before the end of the current contract period. The applicable monthly hire charge will be confirmed when the extension is agreed.

7. Ending the Hire Early

   The initial hire period is a minimum contractual commitment. If the hirer chooses to end the agreement before the end of that period, an early termination charge equal to 50% of the hire charges remaining for the unexpired portion of the contract may become payable, subject to applicable consumer law.

   Any outstanding charges for damage, transport, collection or other agreed services will also remain payable.

8. Deposit

   The security deposit is held against damage, missing parts, unpaid hire charges or other amounts properly due under the hire agreement.

   Following collection and inspection of the machine, the deposit will be released or refunded provided the machine is returned in the condition expected after reasonable use. Any deductions will be explained to the hirer.

9. Loss, Theft & Serious Damage

   The hirer is responsible for keeping the machine reasonably secure throughout the hire period and must notify Skillshot promptly if it is stolen, seriously damaged or involved in an incident that may affect its safety.

   The hirer may be responsible for the reasonable repair or replacement cost where loss or damage is not the result of normal wear and tear. For commercial locations, appropriate business or contents insurance may be required.

10. Ownership

    All machines supplied under these terms remain the property of Skillshot Wales throughout the hire period. Payment of hire charges does not give the hirer any ownership interest in the machine.

    No permanent alterations, modifications, drilling, painting or removal of parts may be carried out without our written permission.

11. Collection at the End of Hire

    At the end of the agreement, arrangements will be made for the machine to be returned or collected. Collection charges are not included in the monthly hire price unless specifically stated in the agreement.

    The hirer must provide reasonable access for collection and ensure that the machine is available at the agreed time and location.

12. Availability & Substitution

    Pinball machines are complex mechanical and electronic devices and, occasionally, a machine may become unavailable because of a fault or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

    If this happens before or during a hire, Skillshot may offer a suitable replacement machine where one is available. Any substitution will be discussed with the hirer first.

13. Liability

    Skillshot is not responsible for loss arising solely from the machine being temporarily unavailable because of a breakdown, provided we make reasonable efforts to investigate and rectify the fault.

    Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

14. Individual Hire Agreement

    The exact machine, hire price, deposit, hire dates, delivery or collection charges and any additional arrangements will be recorded in the individual hire agreement.

    By proceeding with the hire, the hirer confirms that they have read and accepted these Terms & Conditions.

15. Consumer Rights

    These terms are intended as a straightforward summary of our standard hire arrangements. Nothing in these terms affects any statutory rights you may have under applicable UK consumer law.
